My First experience at a meeting for the International Gaming Development Association. It was pretty cool, actually. They seemed a bit discombobulated at the fact that they were meeting in a different place, but I still met some pretty neat people. Pat and I got to know this guy Justin that goes to the Art Institute. Afterwards we went and shot some pool with him, and hung out for a while.
I think I learned two things tonight- one, that there doesn't appear to be many actual creative writers with knowledge of the industry trying to get in (or at least that seemed to be what they were telling me) and two, it never fails that to say you're a nerd and that you're a girl automatically opens a can worms.... note to self: ALWAYS mention the boyfriend early, to save trouble.
Pat wants me to write the script for an animated film that he and his classmates want to do. So far it's just in the idea stage, but it sounds like it would be a fun project.
We revel in the trivial obsessions of the web.
