The Stars are Twittering

Some of you may already be familiar with this new microcosmic form of blogging known as 'microblogging', and its pioneering site, Twitter.

If you're not familiar with it, here it is in a nutshell: SMS length 'updates' or 'bits' that can be posted over the internet and received through regular RSS, IM, or mobile text messages.

Twittering has become a novelty for some, and a form of expression for others.

But the upshot is, a few celebrities are now getting on board, and obsessive fans can keep up with their comings and goings 24/7 via their cell phone. I recently notice this little news bite in my Twitter newsletter:

There's also some folks who've been twittering from comic-con, the
big comic book convention in San Diego, California. Check out
Agent M from the folks behind the scenes at Marvel Entertainment
and actor/writer Wil Wheaton on Twitter for a little peek into the
comic book industry's biggest shindig.

If only I had known this last week!
Oh well, I have now added Wil Wheaton to my Twitter. Yup. That's how much of a geek I am.
