Poetry in The Simpsons

The Simpsons has always been rife with intellectualisms, and here are a few examples of one of my favourite hobbies (poetry) crossing paths with one of my favourite shows.

Bart reads "Tyger" by William Blake.

Probably the most famous of literary references on the Simpsons - The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.

Homer's "Rapping Tomato" poem

Lisa's "Meditations on Turning Eight" poem

Things that I never thought I'd see

There are a few things I never thought I'd actually see. I never thought the theatrical cut of Blade Runner would be available on DVD. I didn't think we'd get a Simpsons movie (which later changed to a I didn't think we'd get it until the series ended) and I really thought my chain was going to be yanked about Indiana Jones 4 until Harrison Ford was dead.

Well all of those things are existing or on their way to exist.

For instance this was pic was taken by some guy named Spielberg and posted on http://www.indianajones.com/.

Yup it's an older Indy. Yesterday was Ford's first day of shooting in the costume.
And then we got an awesome Simpsons Trailer.
